Sinapple Dawg

Currently at our home we have around 6 Sin Dawg's.  I know, it's a bit much.  But hey, I am the girl that kept one in her desk at work for a week and just took bites right out of the bag.  Yeah, I work alone.  Probably for reasons like that one.

Tonight for dessert I thought I'd fancy one up a bit.  I had to.  Somehow I convinced my husband and brother to watch Austenland with me.  No joke.  My brother laughed, my husband (the english major) could only grade papers and look up every once in a while.

First, we thinly sliced the original Sin Dawg in to 1" slices and warmed it in the oven.  I just love making that perfectly gooey center a bit more gooeyer.  To go with that cinnamony-molassessey center some freshly sauteed apples was perfect.  I dream of apple fritters.

In a small skillet combine:
  • One Apple
  • Butter
  • Squeeze of orange juice
  • Squeeze of lemon juice
  • Tiniest pinch of salt
  • 1t or less of brown sugar

Sautee this until the apples are softened, but not mushy.  There is no need to add additional spices.  The Sin Dawg has it all.  Here's what it should look like when it's done:

It's pretty right?  And pretty darn delicious.  The best part?  It didn't take 6 hours to bake, and there hardly any dishes.  That makes for a satisfied and happy hubs. And me.  And my brother.  We were watching Austenland.  I love that movie.
